Ricardo Berckemeyer is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in leading global operations, developing and executing strategy, and managing organizational transformation—particularly within the higher education sector. After nearly two decades of significant contributions to Laureate Education Inc., Berckemeyer stepped down from his role as President and Chief Operating Officer to co-found Cintana Education, LLC. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for a select number of universities. At Cintana Education, Ricardo has established the company’s Latin American footprint and developed its global operating model, which aims to balance scale with academic excellence to jointly drive the success of its affiliates and Cintana’s. During the past 30 years, Ricardo has been exposed to diverse regions, including Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, highlighting his ability to drive organizational success across various cultural and regulatory landscapes. Throughout his career, Berckemeyer has been guided by a deep commitment to the transformative power of education. Berckemeyer earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico in Lima, Peru, and further advanced his education with a Master of Business Administration in General Management and Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.
