Universidad Internacional del Ecuador (UIDE) is a nonprofit university serving more than 7,000 students across campuses in Quito, Guayaquil, and Loja. Throughout its 29-year history, UIDE has worked to increase its national and international standing. Thanks to its joint work with Harvard University, it created the Continental Association of Universities for Sustainable Development. It later established the Free Legal Aid Office with the endorsement of the Ecuadorian Ministry of Justice and Human Rights. UIDE has the top-ranked medical school in Ecuador and maintains a 100% pass rate in the Professional Qualification Exam for its medical graduates. As of 2016, UIDE was the only private, self-financed, multi-campus university to be recategorized among the best universities in Ecuador.
