“On December 5, 2023, the Secretary of Innovation of the Presidency organized the first edition of the Innovation Awards 2023. This event highlighted projects and initiatives that promote innovation and the use of technology to solve societal problems.
The Francisco Gavidia University (UFG), through its Technology and Systems Directorate, won second place in the ‘Digital Platform-Educational Innovation Ecosystem’ category, with its project ‘Academic Credentials Using Blockchain Technology.’
This project focuses on issuing digital academic credentials, aiming to improve security and simplify the verification of students’ academic achievements or degrees. Thus, UFG ensures the immutability of documents, facilitates instant verification, and allows students to share their academic credentials with anyone they wish, including professional platforms or networks like LinkedIn.
This initiative promotes the international authentication of academic credentials, protecting information, and incorporating an authenticity factor, offering the educational community a reliable and efficient solution to prevent fraud.”
