Carolina has extensive experience in the areas of digital teaching and learning, educational product development and performance, and faculty training in the higher education and continuing education sectors. She specializes in designing, developing, and implementing fully online, blended, and multilingual programs for the higher education and executive education.
Prior to Cintana, Carolina was a Senior Instructional Designer and Partner Manager at Emeritus Institute of Management, being responsible for all course design, development, and deployment of Brazilian partner institutions. She also spent 8 years at Laureate Education developing strategies for adoption and active use of new and existing courses and products as well as designing learning models and faculty training for new online programs. Before joining Laureate, she was an English teacher for more than 15 years, teaching mainly English for Specific Purposes and exam preparation courses, and developing corpus-based teaching materials.
Carolina has a master’s and PhD in Applied Linguistics from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo and a licentiate degree in Language Teaching from Universidade Paulista in Brazil. During her PhD, she was a Visiting Researcher at Northern Arizona University under a Fulbright Doctoral Dissertation Research Award.
