In a recent initiative dedicated to expanding higher education and fostering international student involvement, Arizona State University’s (ASU) President, Michael Crow, and Cintana Education’s Chairman, Doug Becker, led a delegation to Galala University (GU) in New Cairo, Egypt. Galala University is a notable member of the 17 Cintana Alliance partner universities, a network powered by ASU and managed by Cintana Education.
The ASU team engaged in an immersive three-day visit at GU. They took a comprehensive tour of the campus, attended selected classes, and held insightful discussions on the ASU-GU Dual Degree programs.
“We have the opportunity to impact so many students and learners across Egypt, Africa and the Middle East,” said Crow.
During the visit, Crow and Becker met with GU’s president, Mohamed El-Shinawi, and Adel Al-Adawy, chairman of the board, along with other senior leaders and board members. They collectively focused on the potential of double degree programs and strategized over launching new academic offerings in the upcoming years.
A key feature for President Crow was visiting ASU’s USAID-funded Center of Excellence for Energy during his time in Egypt, showcasing ASU’s commitment to impactful global educational efforts.
This visit reinforces ASU’s commitment to egalitarian access to quality education and strengthening long-term institutional relationships. It underlines ASU’s broad global perspective and solidifies its position as a significant contributor to international education.
